DNA analysis company Illumina has hit Ariosa Diagnostics with another patent infringement suit.

Illumina has filed two patent infringement suits in Europe assert patents covering cell-free foetal DNA for non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT).

Ariosa, along with The Doctors Laboratory and TDL Generics, were accused of infringing Illumina’s European patent (EP 0,994, 963) with the Harmony NIPT test supplied by Ariosa. The suit was filed in the High Court of Justice in the UK.

Illumina’s second complaint was filed against Centrum Badań and Medgenetix in the Regional Court in Warsaw.

It accused the companies of infringing its European patent (EP 2,183,693) with the Iona NIPT test supplied by Premaitha Health.
