Dorsey & Whitney sets up patent practice in Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City | 01 July 2013

Dorsey & Whitney LLP has recruited Marcus Simon as partner to establish a patent practice group in the firm’s Salt Lake City Office.

Simon joins the firm from Salt Lake City IP boutique Workman Nydegger.

He practices patent portfolio development and management, infringement and validity risk analysis, as well as licensing and transactional IP due diligence.

Previously an associate at Dorsey & Whitney earlier in his career, Simon has experience serving clients engaged in the development and manufacture of implantable medical devices (such as stents and embolic filters), fibre optics, lasers and micro-electro-mechanical systems.

Partner Annette Jarvis, who is head of Dorsey & Whitney’s Salt Lake City office, said in a statement: “It is great to welcome Simon back to Dorsey. His deep expertise will not only strengthen our IP prosecution, it will provide tremendous insights in claim construction and prior art analysis for Dorsey’s patent litigators across the Firm, including the great team of patent litigators who have joined our growing office here in Salt Lake City.”
